Father's Day

Reason's I Love my Dad:

1. He would pull my boots out of the snow when they got stuck (or when my sister and I stuck them there on purpose) and not get upset even after doing it several times within an hour.

2. He made me feel safe when I had to go the hospital with pneumonia when I was 5.

3. He's got a great sense of humor- even when practical jokes are at your expense, they're still pretty funny.

4. After driving for several hours with my sister and I to a fishing spot he didn't hesitate to pack the truck up and drive home because I was certain there was a whale in the lake that was going to eat us.

5. He laughs at my bad jokes.

6. He taught me how to parallel park by pretending he was a car. I ran over over his foot, but he didn't get mad. He was white with pain- but not mad.

7. He taught me how to take a great photograph.

8. He passed his great artistic genes on to me.

9. When I was in college and too poor to buy groceries he came up to visit me and brought a large box of avocados. When I asked him what to do with the avocados, he suggested I make guacamole and find some friends with chips. While it wasn't funny at the time, it is really funny now.

10. He never hesitates to tell me how much he loves me.

I love you Dad, Happy Fathers Day!

Boot Camp

Today was the third day of boot camp- Pac West Fitness Boot Camp that is. I was timid at first, but with the encouragement and camaraderie of two good friends, we joined. I was so sore after the first class, I contemplated how long I could go with out having to sit down (or squat for that matter) and pee. The second day was basically running up and down stadium stairs, breaking only to do squats, for about 90 minutes. Today was a fair amount of running and upper body work. My arms and shoulders feel Jell-o like right now, but over all I am feeling great. This has proved to be a great way to release stress and really enjoy Golden Gate Park.
I've learned that I need to be in a group to push myself to the limit. I think this may be true and reach into other areas of my life as well. Hmmm... Need to explore that thought more.
